On Sunday I had a stall at the Little Loves Fayre in Rayleigh. I arrived early so I had time to wander around the Mount and snap some photos of the beautiful wildlife – a squirrel watched me from a tree and there were plenty of bugs buzzing around the flowers. Its always nice to start the day in nature.

Once back in the hall, I got to work setting up my new display and was kindly given a second table since my neighbour did not show up. I scrambled to find a use for it since it would have been a shame to waste it, and ended up laying out some of the spare A6 sketches I happened to have with me. Also, the scarf I’d brought ended up being the perfect size to cover the tabletop. Would I have changed up the layout if I had more time? Absolutely. But I am really pleased with what I put together given the time constraints.
All original animal artwork
For this event, apart from the main photo/portrait comparison portfolio, everything on display was my own original traditional art instead of just prints of my art. Some of them I dug out of the archive, others I was working on up until the night before, and some were a collab between my past and present self, so there was a real variety on show.
I chatted to so many lovely people throughout the day and even did my first ever A6 sketch commissions which seemed to be quite popular. If you’d like your own, please get in touch by email.
