On Sunday August 2nd, I was at the Hockley Summer Fayre, an event that almost didn’t happen until some kind souls stepped in and saved the day.

I love doing local events as there’s no worries about getting stuck in traffic and if you forget anything you can just nip home and grab it. So you can imagine my disappointment when I saw that a market in my home town I had booked was being cancelled last minute. However, I barely had time to feel sad about it as the fayre was resurrected almost immediately.

It turned out to be a really lovely show, we even got to trade for an extra couple of hours, which meant I could keep drawing people’s pets for even longer. I kept my display fairly simple, but still made sure to vary the heights of my framed portraits for added visual interest. I indulged in some delicious vegan cookies from a bakery stall and treated myself to an adorable crochet frog that I had been keeping my eye on throughout the day.
