I thought I’d start sharing more about the pet portraits I’ve worked on, including some Work In Progress shots, since I love seeing other artists show their process.
First up is the gorgeous Annie, who I painted using watercolours.

I started out with a pencil sketch and once that was done I began painting the eyes as to me they are the most important part of a portrait.

Gradually, the layers were built up.

The grass was added last to, literally, ground Annie.

She looked so beautiful in this frame which complimented the natural textures and warm tones of her painting.

If you would like a painting of your own dog, or know someone who would like one as a gift, please get in touch and I’ll be happy to help.
