Say “cheese”

I have a collection of cameras in my house from over the years, including one bridge camera, some little compact digitals, a couple of classic SLRs and my Polaroid (that I have no idea how to get working, so is mostly just for show). Then there is the Digital SLR, probably my favourite for portraits,…

Some time away from the easle

Mother’s day preparations have taken over my arty life at the moment – most days involve me being up to my eyes in crafting bits ‘n’ bobs, trying not to superglue my fingers together I’m sure I’ll be back to drawing after next week, but for now I can’t even see my desk because of…

Feathered Friend Finished (Nearly!)

OK, almost at the end of another portrait, but I couldn’t resist posting an update before adding the finishing touches There should be photographic evidence up on the site before the week is out, so look out for a Macaw perched in the gallery very soon x

Next show:

Arts & Crafts Show on Sunday 26th February, 10.30 til 3.30 at Hullbridge Community Centre, Essex There are lots of great stalls, and a lovely atmosphere in the hall I hope to see you there πŸ™‚ x

Fair Planning

I am now back to working on my craft fair stall, as I shall be popping up at a few shows in the not-too-distant future This makes me happy as I get to play around with colour schemes and props, whilst sketching out my ideas The snow is a good excuse to stay snuggled up…

January Summary

January this year has been lovely Attending my second Arts and Crafts Fair was very enjoyable; thanks to all of you who came along to the Hullbridge Community Centre on Sunday, it was a lovely show with lots of great stalls, and even the freezing weather didn’t dampen spirits I have recently finished this portrait,…

Belated New Year Update

No resolutions for me this year, I can never keep them… BUT, I do have a lot of things planned for the next few weeks, and I am sure they will be great fun πŸ™‚ One portrait is coming to an end, and another is about to start, perfect! For now, enjoy your January, and…

Festive feelings

December is nearly here, so I’m sure a theme will begin to emerge in my work over the next few weeks – bring on the fairylights and glitter! Time to make cards for friends and family, whilst wrapping presents with lots of ribbons and sparkly bows Have a wonderful December x

The little things

OK, it is time to stop worrying about what might/should/could happen now or in the future I am learning to appreciate the amazing life I have right here, right now Today’s little thing: Sitting with my best (furry) buddy Wiley and hugging him for what seemed like hours, while he fell asleep on my lap….

A great day out

I had a wonderful time at theΒ bazaar, and it was great to see Purdey’s portrait go to a good home ^_^ Thank you to everyone who came along, and I look forward to the next show!   Take care   x

Is it bad….?

I may have already planned where my christmas tree will be this year, and spent the day eating chocolate coins ^_^ Ooh, its all very exciting, and soon I will start making christmas cards for everybody πŸ˜€ *skips around the room, humming ‘jingle bells’* x

Purdey kitty

My latest portrait is now up on the site, and I’m sure this is the first of many cats I will have the pleasure of drawing The cat’s name is Purdey; she lives at the care home where I will be at the weekend, and she really is beautiful! Wiley’s portrait will follow soon, I’m…

Hello November, when did you get here??

In all the dressing-up-eating-chocolates-and-watching-horror-films that the weekend presented me with, I hadn’t even realised it was a new month, shame on me! I hope you all had a fun weekend, I know I did πŸ™‚ Now, I’m off to collapse on the bed and catch up with some sleep, byeeee x

Bazaar News

On Saturday 12th November, I will be at the Stambridge Meadow Bazaar with some of my artwork. Previous work will be on display, and you can see my ‘portrait in progress’ throughout the day. I will be there from 3pm, so if you are in the area, please come along πŸ™‚ Where to find me:…

It’s going well so far

‘Pencil Wiley’ now has two eyes, one ear and most of a nose πŸ™‚ It’s taking a while, since the ‘real Wiley’ enjoys curling up in his basket by my desk, and I spend too much time hugging him and telling him how cute he is, but I’m sure he knows that already!

Family portrait

Every dog in our family, past and present, has had a portrait done, so its now Wiley’s turn. His unusual markings and expressive eyes are going to be wonderful to draw/paint Here he is, looking handsome as ever:

Wii are odd

Wiley saw me using Wii-fit for the first time today, and I’m not sure what he made of it, haha! My arm waving and crazy face didn’t seem to impress him… XD
